  This is The LEGO Movie’s spiritual successor: a hilarious and witty parody of a toy product that uses creative visual storytelling to effortlessly tell its story. Where this one surpasses its plastic brick predecessor is with two phenomenal leading performances and a slew of biting social commentary. This movie will be one that defines this era of filmmaking.

  FN: I had a really shitty day today all around and this movie was kind of the perfect thing to help me cheer up. So new potential comfort movie unlocked!

  Started off strong but I don’t really love the way the plot unfolded (I wish they kept up the great friendship between Blake and Anna they set up at the beginning). Still, this was a lot more fun and a lot more gay than I was expecting. Blake Lively actually plays a character and she plays her quite well.

  If this turns out to be an Age of Ultron situation where the trailer is so good that it gets me way more hyped for the movie than I would've been without it, but then the movie isn't that good and when I rewatch the trailer afterward I get really sad at what could've been I will riot.

  Edit: That newest trailer is not helping with my unease.
