Mickey 17 2025
rlly fun: patterson rips, ruffalo rips, toni rips. but it really goes nowhere exciting in the 3rd act! the mcguffin of the 'baby return' was wholly unnecessary- it became an extremely cliche'd fetch quest/save humanity by befriending nature/natives ahhh flick right at the landing point of the film which was a little let down. let me watch these characters wrestle with the ethics, man (not capitalism=bad- i meant the double soul, interpersonal thing). not to mention: multiple interesting characters somehow…

Blow Out 1981
definitely has heart and the cinematography is rly great at times, but hard for me to stay engaged plot-wise. felt like i was glancing at my phone the whole time- the way the plot sort of ended up making no sense AND felt completely unimportant at the same time. that’s the sort of feeling i had, intentional or not.
i must be missing something tho, as the avg score seems much to high for a Blow Up turned b-movie by Palma.

Even a biopic as cookie cutter and surfaced as this one. I miss the feeling of adversity against an audience. The challenge, the retort back at the eye rolling, the aggress. I did understand the roar of the harmonica in the face…
