North Hollywood 2020
This has a distinct charm to it which I really appreciate. Mikey has clearly made this his passion project and it shines through its super unique style.
It does feel very film school/student film at times with some corny dialogue, lots of odd music cues and some slight pacing issues.
It has some solid performances (Aramis) and some pretty insane cinematography which was a highlight. Also how the hell did they get that cast??
It’s a bit rough around the edges but it shows promise from Mikey and it’ll be super interesting to see where he goes after this.

The Whale 2022
Brendan and Hong Chau are completely innocent. The film and script around them is a misguided mess. Often times making its supporting characters execute puzzling decisions that are so out of left field that it evolves into borderline comedy (which many people at my screening were laughing at times that were maybe not appropriate).
