  Filmmaking will never be the same. Every shot had me in awe. I can't believe a movie like this even exists. How the hell does someone reach this level of filmmaking after a few shorts and a couple of features? Simply unbelievable talent Bi Gan has there.

  This movie is Wong Kar-wai's wet dream, in a style borrowed from him and absolutely perfected.

  Millennium Mambo 2001

  You can really see that Bi Gan picked up many of his artistic sensibilities from Hou Hsiao-Hsien. It feels like their films exist in the same universe. Even more so when they share Lim Giong's music. I could let Millennium Mambo play into Long Day's Journey into Night and it would feel natural. And yet, they are completely different.

  All of this is just magical and feels almost like a moment made just for me.
