I think I enjoyed it. There were a lot of emotional moments but I don't really think I understood what the point of them all were. Also I felt like some interactions felt more like "this is totally what this zany high guy would act like" and not what a real guy like him would act like. I feel like I've met both of these people in real life and yet feel like they're disingenuous...

Did a rewatch, this was pretty entertaining tbh. It's like 10 movies in one!
If I could feel emotions this movie would really hit but it still hits a good bit! I know I know "this is so good because there's no magic and it's grounded in reality but still has that Ghibli charm"
I thought it was a beautiful story with *holy cow* just incredible music but I honestly wish it had some magic in it. I just like movies to have magic in them, sue me. With that said, the "magical" parts were my favorite of the whole movie.
