a man is only as good as the women who radicalized him 🤷‍♀️. timothee chalamet’s bob dylan, whose fierceness is selfish and reckless, does not deserve the pure artistry and openness of joan baez or the affection and boundless ambition of sylvie russo. dylan resented baez’s painterly lyrics, but she influenced his poetic spirit immeasurably. dylan resented russo (or should i say rotolo) for leaving, but pushed her to the edge. what the FUCK is this business?!?!? during the final…

victoria pedretti deserves to be the lead in a Maid-adjacent hbo max series adaptation of this short. her performance, even in these brief 14 minutes, felt indistinguishable from complex character studies that take months of method to create. this film was just so neatly paced and edited—it felt fresh but simultaneously remarkably lived-in and familiar. and can we talk about SHOT COMPOSITION! the visuals were a blessing. much love to this team.
