An excellently crafted, slightly drawn out war movie that showcases some strong characters from the protagonist's side. The Zulus are not given much character or personality, and seem to be homogenous in motive. Michael Caine stands above all the others and I can see how he earned his fame. Entertaining historic film.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind 1977
Enjoyable extraterrestrial flick that finds itself dated to me in more ways than one, and may not be as immersive to a modern audience today as it was to the initial one. With a memorable cast, interesting and unique take on the "aliens" and with the military complex once more being lambasted by Spielberg, I have to say this film was somewhat enjoyable despite it's setbacks.

Absolute disaster of a snail paced film, leaving me wondering "what were the executives thinking with this one?". This first part (of four) establishes just about nothing and rides heavy on betting you'll stay tuned for part two. Hollywood needs to stop releasing these "saga" multi-part trash bins in try to squeeze the viewer for even more money with content that can be fit into one film. A streaming platform or similar would have been a much more advantageous route…

Excellently paced slice of life movie and so much unspoken deep character development that can easily go unnoticed if not paying attention. One of the best written movies of the year, and essential viewing for those trying to find their place in life. Austin Butler coins himself as the modern James Dean and Tom Hardy fills the role of a modern Marlon Brando very well. Jodie Comer is a talented up and coming actress that definitely has a bright future in Hollywood and narrated this movie perfectly.
