Still holds up today with the best of all the thrillers ever made. Thanks for Rewatchables podcast for making me watch again, sickly entertaining. Hopkins made Hannibal a top five villain of all time and nearly steals the show.

Late Night with the Devil 2023
Nice to see a horror movie with such a fresh take on the pull of evil in media. Stylistically done with excellent performances. The ending goes a bit off the rails but still gets the message across. After seeing Dastmalchian in secondary and side roles for many years it was wonderful seeing him take the reins as this charismatic night show host. He perfectly portrays his wonder, weaknesses and weirdness to keep the viewer invested in this modern morality play. A very fun watch and am excited to see more from Cairnes in the future.

Wildcat 2023
“Whenever I’m asked why Southern writers particularly have a penchant for writing about freaks, I say it is because we are still able to recognize one.“
What a wonderful, wild journey that the Hawkes’ take us on by fleshing out the material of one of our great American Southern writers, Flannery O’ Connor. A Real Pain 2024
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I really enjoyed this production of Eisenberg’s. Kieran Culkin really steals the show though as the depressed cousin experiencing some true pain. The journey to Poland really takes a toll on both of the cousins experiencing the pain of a modern life especially in comparison to the pain that their Jewish brethren have suffered through in the past. Funny, heartfelt and at times hard to watch this is one of the jewels of 2024. The appearance of Jennifer Grey was a nice surprise as well.
