    If you go in with ZERO expectations, thinking for yourself and not what the masses are saying, it's surprisingly well.
    It is definitely nothing like the original and it wasn't meant to be nor does it have to.
    It is merely a different interpretation of source material that was done well and didn't try to be a carbon copy of the original film.
    Only people who have beef with remakes are people who don't full grasp the concept of the nerve ending film industry and that's more so a very personal problem.

    The plot was definitely edited like an elevated Lifetime movie.
    But Ryan Gosling and Kirsten Dunst, who at the time were borderline typecast as far as roles in Hollywood went, give some of their best performances of their careers in this particular film in my opinion.
    Ryan and Kirsten have always shown up and showed out in every movie they've been in, which is a testament to their crafts.

    What a fantastic prequel to what would be one of the most iconic stories in history.

    Timothee Chalamet redefines who Wonka is from who we knew him as while watching the previous adaptations.
