  rating is so high because of the visuals, the cinematography, the soundscaping and the soundtrack. a feast for the eyes and ears. also the strong feelings of nostalgia for an italian summer, watching this in the winter wasn't a good idea.

  a very "simple" plot hidden under layers of dialogues that made me feel genuinely stupid. that was a me problem though. i wish i understood elio better. everything sounded really poetic, but incredibly cryptic.

  this honestly greatly surpassed all of my expectations. witty, funny, emotional, intense and visually stunning. mickey definitely deserved an oscar for her performance, she was truly the star of the movie, and she acted beautifully. had a genuinely fun time, so much so that i didn't even mind the incredibly long run time!

  (also, how anyone can not love women is beyond me cause... wow.)

  a hard pill to swallow, but felt necessary. beautiful filmography, stunning music, and a representation of teenagehood that is not often shown. especially how when ur young everything seems both so easy and difficult, hard decisions are quick to take, and there is no time to truly regret. i appreciated the simplistic ending as well.
