  Not sure what the scoffing is about. This was earnest, funny, trite, passionate, broken, grandiose and mostly incomprehensible.

  That's a mirror. Like Coppola, we are incapable of reconciling with or understanding the culminating forces behind our modern decline, but are desperately trying to put the pieces together nonetheless. In this effort there is discussion, and the discussion is utopia!
