  I wanted to love this. Alternate universe adventure felt flat and I couldn’t suspend disbelief. It was fine, but not even in the top 5 from A24 in my opinion. Don’t drag me for this spicy take - I’m glad most everyone loves it.

  The paranoia of 17th Century New England is portrayed very well here and is only beat by The Crucible in my opinion. Anya Taylor-Joy played an adolescent girl caught up in both period-accurate and modern complexities incredibly convincingly. Cinematographically beautiful with a sense of dread and tension in the atmosphere throughout.
