  this movie stuck with me in ways i couldn’t even quantify. the first watch was like seeing a wrecked car on the side of the road. disturbing, but you can’t really stop looking. a line that really stuck with me also was sue desperately saying “i just need a better version of myself.” on the first watch, it WAS shocking, though i still couldn’t bring myself to look away from disturbing sequences. upon rewatch, the provocation of scenes have so much intent. they’re a little harder to look at now, but i STILL love this movie. amaziiiinggggg :3

  i couldn’t get through it the first time i watched it because i thought jaime foxx was annoying. but, he has a lot of chemistry with teyonah’s character. near perfect sound track/sound effects, but it leans a little too much into the comedy. if it had a little less it’d be a great watch.

  -1 for encapsulating the feeling of trans resentment a way too well. “when i talk about that stuff, it’s like someone took a shovel and dug out my insides.” literally not just to the point of your heart feeling empty, but it feels as though your brain is literally  being hollowed out. not being allowed to feel and embrace the fullness of this part of you. 
  it feels too real and justice smith was perfect. when you go back on moments…

  movie was really limited in contrast to the book & i wish they really expanded on the impact of camazots. the kehlani song bangs 2 this day tho
