The French Dispatch 2021
You know, Anderson's gimmick is really alluring and hypnotizing. This story's premise paired so well with his gimmick that it glows.
The anthology nature of the film, being motivated by the owner of a quirky paper printing station passing away. we watch as writers reminisced about the legacy held by this man. We learn very little about his character except by glimpses of how he held writers to tell their story.
That's the meta narrative at least. Along with the atmosphere of the local French town.
Each individual story calls to reflection its own sentiment and fondness. Warming for the soul.
