Oddity 2024
This is the equivalent of someone taking a long time to tell a story only for them to say “I forget” when you ask what’s the point of the story.
A couple decent spooks and I loved the idea of subversion of expectations in regards to the antagonist but lacked any catharsis, needed at least more violent justice if the logic is going to be missing. I would like the scares to be a recompense of a well written situation and not a script that treats as simple excuses to create spooky situations.

How you manage to utilize fantastic source material like Simon Stålenhag‘s book of the same name and spend over $300 million dollars turning it into a soulless corporate husk is beyond me.

Some great comedy bits and concepts that get diluted like the oxy of this movie. Lots of loose plot threads and random tonal shifts caused me to lose grip on the potential interesting ethical debates presented. However I was still fascinated on this movies hyper-fixation on sauce.
