Loved getting to watch it in theaters ! (Missed it the first time around, mainly because I wasn't born yet.)
I always love a good Guillermo del Toro movie, and was glad to see his first feature length. You can tell it's one of his first projects, but it really holds up and gives insight on the career he was about to follow.

True rating in my heart of hearts : 3,75/5 (very precise), but I'm rounding it up because queer movies always deserve a bonus.
What I liked:
It was very sweet, with heart warming intentions. I was afraid the drama would be centered on family rejection, but it actually models pure family acceptance of their son's queerness, no questions asked. The grandfather was absolutely ADORABLE, and I would have loved having him as a grandpa.
