Schindler's List 1993
I mean, what do you expect, it’s Schindler’s List, arguably the most important Holocaust drama ever made. It’s bleak, it’s grounded, and it’s highly respectful of the subject matter. On a visual and technical level as well, it is a masterpiece, with some stunning black and white cinematography that only occasionally uses bits of color in important moments and some beautiful yet brutal production design. Definitely one of Spielberg’s best, even if it’s not an easy watch like most of his other films.
