Somewhat pretentious movie, but then so am I. The musical aspects of the film can overshadow the story and acting, especially in the beginning of the movie, but overall the phenomenal story and stellar ending brings home a truly wonderful movie.

I cannot believe it took Owen till halfway through the movie to realize it was a musical.

This is a very compelling movie. Anton Chigurh is a terrifying villain, Lewellyn Moss is a great take on a man in over his head, and the sheriffs deep reflections interspersed throughout add serious complexity to the film. Throughout the film, the flashiness of the battle between Chigurh and Moss stands out, until the end, when in the final, anticlimactic scene, the fact that the movie is truly about the sheriff is driven home.

A work of art. Beautiful, moving, it gave me feelings of joy, sadness, conviction, arousal, and much more. The entire movie is a high point. The only flaw is the lack of a sequel which obviously would have carried on the prominent legacy of the first film.

I’m certain that the director snorted three lines of coke and then wrote this script in 20 minutes. This movie is awful, wooden acting, horrible filming, and a lot of weird choices. However, it does fall under the “so bad it’s good” category, and so it was a fun watch.
