  The absolute best thing this film has going for it, outside of the phenomenal visuals (it’s Eggers & Blaschke, it’s a given), is just how simple, faithful, and effective the story is, while still giving the story time to build atmosphere. You get seemingly 3hrs worth of world-building and atmosphere in a 2hr film that feels 2hrs long. Nice.

  Man, the massive hype for this movie was not fair to it at all.

  Lo-fi Paranormal Activity for children of divorce & analog horror nerds.

  I loved what this movie made me feel: lulled into the terror of imagination. You’ll either love it or think it’s awful. This film is more of a simulation of a nightmare or an “audio/visual experience” than a movie, if that makes sense ??? Sorry if that’s pretentious
