As a Gladiator fan, I loved all the action and nostalgia. It’s clearly a tribute to the original and feels like a gift for fans who’ve waited 24 years. That said, the plot’s kind of all over the place with multiple villains, and some parts are pretty cheesy. Still, it’s a fun watch, but the original stands alone.
Captivating from the opening scene. Something feels off right away, and the slow burn only intensifies that unease as the story unfolds. Hugh Grant delivers a fantastic performance, and the tension is palpable throughout. The film blends cheeky jump scares, harrowing moments, and even the occasional Monopoly joke to create an atmosphere that’s perfectly unsettling. It’s especially thought-provoking for anyone with a religious upbringing. The ending was great but felt like it had more depth to explore, which is the only thing keeping this from a full five stars. Still, it’s a challenging, intriguing movie in the best way.
