Fincher continues to excel at constructing a great mystery film. Two incredibly strong central characters, and a very compelling mystery for them to solve leads to this film being absolutely captivating from beginning to end.

Not as good as Eleven, miles better than Twelve, and that is entirely because this one once again focuses on a single heist for the entire movie that is driven by a highly personal goal, probably the most personal in the whole series. This one also confirms that Soderbergh has an outstanding eye for cinematography and editing, this entire film looks insanely good. My favorite bit is probably the extended split-screen segment at the beginning of the climax with all the really nice reds and yellows. Sodey? You’re ok in my book.

Seeing a movie like this in a theater is very surreal. Like, this is meant to be in the DVD bargain bin, or maybe buried on some nameless streaming service, but instead I saw it in a movie theater. And I'm glad I did.

This is a deeply silly movie, there's no getting around that. It's so early-2000s edgy and I love it for that. The worldbuilding, visual design, storytelling, it is all so earnestly stupid and that's what makes…
