  There was nothing fun or sexy about this film, and the creatures weren’t well realised or scary enough to merit such a gravely serious take. On a positive note, I enjoyed the acting to a degree - they did the best they could with what they were given

  I really appreciate the ideas this film set out to express, but between the death by veneers, the dog being thrown at the plane, and the whimper of an ending, the execution of it all was just absolutely gonzo.

  One of the most glorious cinema experiences I’ve ever had. I should probably preface by saying that I am both a millennial and a theatre kid through and through, and Wicked was pretty formative for me as a teenager. So I walked into this already in love with the songs, the characters and the story. And the 16 year old in me couldn’t be happier with how this movie adaptation turned out. Every aspect was elevated into something truly sublime. No notes. I rarely rewatch movies in the cinema but this might be an exception. Cannot wait for part 2.
