That moment when Basheer (although unnamed in the movie) returns to the house one night and is welcomed by the eponymous neelavelicham, it lit a fire in the deepest, darkest, coldest part of my soul.

My Girl 1991
Vada and Thomas J didn't deserve their little hearts to be broken like that. The setting of Vada's home reminded me so much of Alison Bechdel's Fun Home. I'd watch it again. And I'd cry again.
(On the downside though: We let our heart break for this little girl till the very end, and she turns out to be a republican! I surely don't judge her. But damn it, Elehwany!)
