Avatar: The Way of Water 2022
So very mid.
Felt like it was basically the same film twice with minor details changed. Also the over the top, weird animal noises made me literally cringe.
13 years and can’t think of an original plot.
I will give it that the CGI/visual effects were pretty incredible but it was nowhere near enough to save this film imo.

Very odd film. CGI was worse than The Philosophers Stone imo.
Looking forward to the next two but just imagining how much more unrealistic they will be.
Jason Momoa was an interesting addition to the cast but it was necessary to make this film somewhat interesting. The homosexuality was an unexpected spin and he definitely wasn’t your ‘normal’ villain, but it felt a little over the top in places.
All in all it was very mid.

Renfield 2023
This film was sub par in most aspects. It was carried by one single actor, Mr Cage himself. I do not tend to enjoy watching films that are dominated by a single person. It was a fairly interesting plot but felt like it has zero twist and surprises. There was plenty of gore but it wasn’t amazingly animated and left much to be desired.

If you’re looking for a well produced, thought-provoking film with an amazing plot, do not watch this. However, if you are looking for a pure nostalgic trip down memory lane, with beyond likeable characters and a great cast, then this is the film for you. It was comical and charismatic, with many references to the different Mario games over the years.
