Hell to watch. Dizzying edit. Let me emphasize that this thing was over 2 hours long and I hardly learned anything about the band or any of the members. Which actually I think was the point but I'm still mad. It feels like this movie was just explaining to you why it needed to be as subversive and fluffy as it is in order for stephen malkmus to sign off on it. Joe Kerry was rlly funny. ARP is funny as hell and he put his whole p*ssy into this god bless that man. I have to give this 3 stars for the sheer endeavor

This isn't really a righteous environmental justice movie that will fill a truth oranger with pride, but just the best kind of feel-good film. Gorgeous, warm, amusing throughout… Exceptionally charming performances and somehow the full cast with great comedic delivery. Was smiling for the whole thing. In some measure a perfect movie 🐚

Before anything I will say that if this movie had an impending prequel this would get a better review. And if that happens I will update. But as is:
Motive and exposition were neither satisfying nor interesting… All of the intriguing plot details were just walked off into the sunset ahead of a climax that was plainly prescribed from the beginning. This was like if True Detective and Supernatural had a baby kind of. :( also Nick cage makeup did not scare me at all bc I’m way more afraid of him normal
