This movie gave me Austin Powers characters in a Wes Anderson setting/story - sometimes I liked it and thought it was creative and other times I thought it was pretentious. It took too long to get to the main storyline of the film despite giving some interesting world building. To no-one’s surprise Robert Pattinson’s and Toni Collete’s performances were spectacular. This movie was jam (or sauce) packed with intriguing ideas but most of the movie was spent wondering where the hell the plot was going for it to then be crammed in the last 30 minutes of the movie.

Dune: Part Two 2024
Yep - Fuck Star Wars. This shit was soooo pretty.
Also, on a second time viewing, Zendaya’s poor acting really stood out. I don’t like Tim because he isn’t intimidating at 115 lbs, but his acting is aight. While Zendaya acts the same for whatever character she plays in any movie she’s in. Everyone else in this movie is an absolute master.

The Hateful Eight 2015
The only Tarantino film I’ve seen is Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which I didn’t care for. I have one word that sums up this movie for me: Badass. I was expecting a typical shoot-em-up western since I’ve heard of Tarantino’s love of spaghetti westerns and violence, but what I got was an epic murder mystery with some of the most interesting characters ever written. While this started slow and mostly stuck to the cabin setting I was enthralled for the full 2 hours and 55 minutes. Onto Inglorious Basterds!
