few movies hit as hard as this one. it’s disturbing yet oddly therapeutic—the rawness and realism are what make it so powerful. the portrayal of family dysfunction, teenage friendships, and mother-daughter relationships is so complex and painfully real. honestly, mothers, daughters, brothers, and fathers could all take something from this. needless to say, i always end up crying buckets.

“a real loser is someone who's so afraid of not winning, they don't even try.“

i’m speechless. this movie has everything—laughs, dark humor, family drama, and moments that made me cry inconsolably (which, honestly, was most of the runtime). by the time the credits rolled, my cheeks hurt from smiling so much. it’s so rare to find a film that makes you feel this full of life. every actor delivers an excellent performance, and each one brings their own personality to the story in a way that blends together beautifully. without a doubt, one of the best movies i’ve seen in a long time.

i don’t know how i’ve made it this far without seeing this absolute masterpiece. the pacing is slow, almost hypnotic, but every moment carries a quiet heartbreak. it might have its problematic aspects, but setting that aside, it’s one of those rare films that makes you want to step inside its world—lost in its vast landscapes, neon-lit nights, and aching solitude. every frame feels like a memory you wish you had lived. a melancholic classic.

oh man, i adored this movie. what a film. the chemistry between the leads is just phenomenal, the cinematography, the dialogue, the soundtrack, this film is just an experience. the ending is also the perfect mix of subtle (if you can call it that) but ultimately heartbreaking. it portrays the coming-of-age genre so seamlessly well, even if you can't directly relate to tenoch and julio’s antics, you find a little of yourself in all of the characters, their individual traits.
