Bandidos 1967
Directed by (and according to Howard Hughes in his booklet for Arrows Vengeance Trails boxset shot by) Massimo Dallamano who worked as cinematographer on Sergio Leone’s A Fistful of Dollars & For a Few Dollars More, Bandidos is a film that you watch for the visuals. Throughout Dallamano provides the film with such a rich and engaging visual style and one scene towards the end has some of the most beautiful day for night I’ve ever seen.
Story and character are what you’d expect from a spaghetti western, but the craft on display more than makes up for any literary shortcomings.
