Deadpool & Wolverine 2024
Deadpool's re-integration into the wider MCU means I probably laughed more at this movie than the previous two, as it eschews some amount of pure toilet humour for slightly more crafted jokes. Not afraid to poke fun at itself and Marvel, but ultimately feels a bit like the Feige-verse might have blunted the edge rather than honed it. Reynolds and Jackman are great and have decent chemistry, there are some good cameos, and one very enjoyable side character, but ultimately I don't think I'll remember the movie in 4 weeks' time.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring 2001
Seeing the extended edition in the cinema was a treat! I think Fellowship suffers a little bit for not having a setpiece that feels on the same visual scale as Helm's Deep or Pelennor Fields, but you do get both the Mines of Moria and Amon Hen instead.
Just a perfectly crafted film, some of the best tearjerker moments of the trilogy <3
