  The more I think about this film, the more it’s going to end up being my Roman Empire of 2023 movie-discourse. I will never understand how it ended up being so seemingly forgotten during awards season and yet somehow Netflix’s Maestro ended up with several awards nods. This film was so much better, with a heartbreaking performance by Charles Melton (that scene on the rooftop made my heart break).

  This was a tough film to watch in 2020, just really bleak AF, but the actors are so good in their parts that I couldn’t turn it off. It’s nice to see Holland step into a role that definitely discards that squeaky, clean Spider-man persona. Once he’s on screen, you really want the camera to stay with him.
