  This movie has some cool ideas that ultimately fall flat. The story gets over explained so many times. Reading up on this movie, this is not the filmmaker's fault. Seems the studio made them idiot proof it.

  This could've been so much better had it not had that lame Tim Burton vibe and the washed out blue-green that so many movies were doing around this time (equilibrium, minority report, queen of the damned, the list goes on). Although looking back…

  profoundly upsetting and visually striking. Isolation, awkwardness, and fear. the movie embodies all those things perfectly, making it sickening to watch at times. Timeless, looks like it could be made today. It feels like it could exist in a void somewhere, like when the actors leave the set, it's just endless blackness on the other side of the door. it's great but it'll be another 10 years before i watch it again. i feel really bad for you if you feel the need to watch this movie frequently. you're probably really sad
