the female characters in this film not only have 0 agency but they exist only in relation to a man (girlfriend, wife). we have the helplessly broken yet edgy mia who is very much a combo between the not like other girls and the manic pixie girl tropes. then there is fabienne who is infantalized beyond belief. has tarantino actually spoken to some women in his lifetime? very much overrated. i cannot for the life of me understand how it came to be revered by so many filmbros.

rather disappointing. bland, generic, been there done that type of storyline (where yet again a woman being hurt is the catalyst for the revenge plot or whatnot).
