The Boy and the Heron 2023
Missed the first part of it due to traffic but my favorite Studio Ghibli movie by far. A beautiful tale of grief and acceptance. I felt so emotional when they finally escape. Phenomenal music and animation as always. I truly feel that Studio Ghibli movies should be watched on the screen. A wonderful reminder that despite the tragedies that exist in real life, we are so lucky to be here with our loved ones in this beautiful reality. Will have to rewatch for sure!

Past Lives 2023
Watched this movie on my flight to Hong Kong! The cinematography captures the feeling of longing of what could have been so well. This movie is not dramatic per se, something that we commonly see in films. There’s no significant fight—no cheating, betrayal, or grand escapades to Korea. Rather it feels long and drawn out, like you’re expecting something major to happen but it never does…just like Nora and Hae Sung’s romantic relationship. I think I overall enjoyed the movie!…
