  there's something tremendously endearing, captivating, about wim wenders' characters, a naivety that's almost childlike -- no matter how absurd the situations, how horrible and desperate their choices. they respond to evil in clumsy ways, wide-eyed, as if experiencing it for the first time. or perhaps it's just bruno ganz.
  stunning work by robby muller, as usual. side note: dennis hopper taking polaroid selfies while sobbing and lying down on a pool table drenched in neon light is life.
