Art has changed so greatly over the last 70 years that I find it hard to identify with the pressured and, frankly, flat acting that I feel is characteristic of earlier films. I’m saddened to say that I felt very little during this, aside from really loving some of the surreal sequences and the decision to cast the same actress as both Saras. I rarely revisit films, but this may have to be one of them, as I still feel there’s something of value left for me to extract.
