quite sentimental as a collegiate oarsman; the ending felt a bit abrupt, and it seemed like the hardships were downplayed, but ultimately, it was a true underdog story with nothing to lost and everything to gain. i was teary eyed in many moments. wonderfully done.

immense amount of concepts to process from this one: cyclicality, impermanence, darkness, trauma and its lifelong consequences
to put this film into one word: harrowing
not sure i can recommend, not for the feint of heart…although it has made me cherish life a bit more but my goodness easily one of the most intense films i’ve ever watched
(watched this after a full cup of 🍄 tea in a full theater…recommend at least the latter so there is no choice but to push through the discomfort of many scenes)
