This movie is so good looking, every part of the frame tells the story and it really elevates the entire film to make every moment hit so much harder.
I loved seeing Rocky back and Michael B Jordan was incredible as Adonis. It really harkened back to the realness of the dialogue of the first film, I felt like everyone was a real person and Adonis was so entertaining as a lead.
It felt like an homage to the original rather than a cheap copy.
Had to sit with this film for a few days before I could form my final opinion as it’s so artistically detailed and the theming is so rich. While I may not connect with every aspect of how this story is told, I can’t deny the feeling of awe I had while watching these scenes. The animation and score make even the most mundane moments breathtaking and that’s something I will always love about this film and Studio Ghibli movies as a whole.
