Man I really wanted to like this. The baby creepers were so cute...that's about where it ended for me. The world had so much promise (the characters, the ship, the planet, the mob of scientist dweebs rolling around), but the whole thing fell completely flat, like it just couldn't decide where it wanted to go, so we ended up seeing a ton of tiny glimpses into what could have been only to be served a…
My mouth was hanging open the whole time
- Body horror was gnarly, especially the eating scenes (shoutout the sound design team yall are freaky)
- The dancing/cigarette sequence was actually captivating, offering a brief 2 minute reprieve from an otherwise very off putting film

Saw at the Metrograph with an engaged crowd, so much fun, gotta get there more often.
Some Notes
- Awesome sound effects and overall sound design, I forgot how great they were
- Ash (The Milk Man™️) is perfect, chillingly practical
- 40 years later, the sets still impress, but the Xenomorph suit was hard to take seriously. It felt like I was watching the Pulp Fiction gimp with a big ass forehead and a biting problem
- Jonesy is cute as hell
- People clapped at the end, which felt like when people clap for a plane landing (bad)
One of the worst movies I've ever seen but Michael Douglas has to pretend his hands are inside a living alien car for 15 minutes
