The biggest flaw of the movie is the same one its predecessor has: there is absolutely zero reason for this movie to be over two hours long. The Substance 2024
It's got a lot to say about aging, body dysmorphia, the irresponsibility of youth, and the predatory nature of the entertainment industry, but none of it is new or revelatory. Beautifully shot, well acted, and edited such that the runtime is actually *mostly* justified. Most of the third act could have been left out, but this is a good body-horror movie that isn't as gross-out as your Cronenbergs.
