  Lincoln 2012

  ★★★★ Rewatched 01 Feb 2024

  This was a great depiction of an important man and president of the United States. Lincoln was such a calm and well-mannered gentleman, and I think Daniel Day-Lewis portrayed him flawlessly. I just recently learned that Day-Lewis has only been in 11 feature films as a lead actor, and he was nominated for 6 of those, which he won 3 of. If that doesn’t say something, I don’t know what does. I really hope Day-Lewis comes out of retirement again…

  i’m an absolute sucker for simple, lighthearted films like this. i usually only buy movie discs for ones i’ve already seen, but i just had a feeling i would love this. A24 is just simply the goat at this point
