Two quite different movies mashed together. The first half is the fabulous Pretty Woman shopping except sex, drugs, and couple vibes. The second half is a Bunuel comedy of manners and class satire. Mikey is incredible in both.

The Scarlet Pimpernel 1934
Leslie Howard is a revelation as an effete dandy French aristocrat “reign of terror” resistance leader hiding in plain sight. One of the only early film depictions of a swishy sophisticate hero protagonist. Howard crushes the role and should be remembered for this over his GWTW Wilkes. Merle Oberon is stunning as his wife caught in the middle with her late pre-code plunging neckline.
