  Could have been a little better, but as a lifelong fan on this franchise, this is honestly maybe the best movie out of them all. My qualms lay with the plot, creature design (which strays a little too far from Stan Winston’s original ideas for my taste) and some of the flowery choreography but the setting and atmosphere catapults the rating a bit.

  I saw this in theaters and fell in love, and I probably watch it once every six months or so. It only gets better every time. It’s truly a masterpiece. Every single frame. Every sound and every line. The perfect heady sci-fi movie, oozing with style and substance. Deep thematic elements that you can dissect and think about for a very long time. Perfect casting, perfect performances. I can’t praise it enough. One of my favorite films of all time, let alone of the past decade.

  Fantastic film with more heart than I was anticipating. The characters were very well written; they have their own arcs but your perception of them changes throughout the movie as well. A little heavy-leaning on the ridiculousness but it passes with some great meta humor and great sequences. One of my new favorite obscure lines of any movie. “Just be a rock.”

  I liked it a lot. Found it pretty entertaining, darkly funny, and peppered with poignant moments. Thinly veiled satire but I saw a lot of truth in it.

  EDIT: An interesting note, a lot of my film industry friends rate it quite low while a lot of my science industry friends rate it pretty high.
