  we get it.. Burroughs & Cobain we’re late stage Opiate infused buddies but 3 Nirvana needle drops in the first 30 minutes is a laughable tongue-in-cheek Easter egg that no one asked for. How to stretch out 150 page book into 2 1/2 hours u ask?? Constant dream sequences, double exposure, contrived hallucinations, long winded Lee rhetoric that doesn’t serve the story or push the envelope further. Big yawn indeed.

  Some of the most divine and exquisite static shots I’ve ever seen. How is it possible to portray so much life in a stationary sequence? Beautifully framed with next level set decoration. What a shame that Parajanov was imprisoned due to the unreasonable censorship of the Soviet Union. The fact that he was able to make a film this inspired after 15 years away from the camera is a testament to his true genius. Very rarely does a motion picture…
