I’m glad I spent all of October watching giallo to get the right context for this movie. Several times — especially before the final act of the movie - I paused to ask myself where it could possibly go for the next X minutes. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that! Spoilers ahead. 

Sunset Blvd meets Cronenberg seems a strange choice for a best picture nominee.

This movie was a lot sadder than I should have expected it to be, given how Red Rocket played out. It makes me want to watch all of Sean Baker’s work. I’ve heard excellent things about The Florida Project, maybe that’s next after catching up with the year’s nominees for Best Picture

Probably Argentos weakest effort I’ve seen but still great. Nonsensical plot that isn’t held up by the keen stylization of his other movies I’ve seen
