I’ve actually never found a film this hard to watch before, gave me a genuine headache. I’m sure whatever the original film was would’ve been more watchable.

Poor Things 2023
Beautifully shot, written, and performed throughout the entire film. Although Bella did discover other aspects of the world that helped her grow and change, it seemed she was almost entirely driven by her sexual urges (even more so than her longing for autonomy). This felt a bit hollow, as her womanhood was defined by the men in her life. I would've liked to see her femininity explored more in ways that didn't involve sex. That can't be the only thing that a woman needs to understand herself, can it?
