somehow there was a lot of hype around this film and i am disappointed, but the light/grain is so consistently beautiful, and as a sucker for a mccartney sappy song, the mother and daughter moment where they sing maybe i'm amazed on the piano made the film for me - also, i'm so happy she dumped the painting (she dumps it, right?!)
