Dit is de derde film in de serie over de gemuteerde reuzenschildpad en er is een formule merkbaar : een monster openbaart zich dat een gevaar vormt voor de mensheid (specifiek de bevolking van Japan), Gamera moeit zich initieel om dan uiteindelijk te vluchten, de mensen (meer bepaald wetenschappers en militairen tesamen) bedenken een plan om het monster uit zijn tent te lokken en finaal zal Gamera ten tonele verschijnen om het monster eindelijk te overmeesteren.
