5/5. I was, and, to an extent, am still wary of the main character's close brush with white male savior discourse, however I think that the plot has by the end of the film done enough to twist our expectations of Paul and effectively dissolves any prescribed path that either Paul or the filmmaker may walk toward that destination. This is perhaps demonstrated most clearly by Paul's choice to literally "change direction" at a pivotal moment in the film.
