I’m not sure what I was expecting but it wasn’t this.
Micky 17 felt a disjointed mess of plot drivers which never really happened.
The characters felt underdeveloped and different from one scene to the next.
I don’t profess to being a huge sci fi fan but if you removed the aliens and a space ship and replaced them with dogs and a cruise ship would it have even been a science fiction film?
An unexpected sequel to a true Aardman classic.
Although it doesn’t capture the magic of the original, it was great to see a new stop motion animation before the release of the next Wallace and Gromit film!
Fun, humorous, and clever but didn’t outstay its welcome. The lack of the majority of the origional voice cast was a little disappointing but the new voice cast including Bella Ramsey, Thandie Newton and Zachary Levi did well to carry the story which was no longer a simple escape movie but now a break in before you can escape movie!

Quite clearly DC’s equivalent to Marvel’s Spiderman and Ant Man, Blue Beetle focuses on the transformation of Jaime Reyes (Xolo Ramirez) into a superhero supported heavily by his very involved family.
For me, Xolo was a particularly strength of this film as was Susan Sarandon playing villain Victoria Kord. Villain’s henchman Ignacio (Raoul Max Trujillo) had potential to be good but wasn’t utilised enough until the final act.
