    I don’t know. 

    Great performances all around. Wildly creative and imaginative. Beautiful cinematography and set design. 

    The movie felt in search of a message. The plot seems to be an experiment. But the results of that bizarre experiment are either underwhelming or unclear.

    I was very excited for this movie. 

    It was ok. I liked that it didn’t really take a side in the debates about American Studies, but rather just asked the audience to think more deeply about some topics. 

    I also enjoyed that the political theme and topic was tertiary to the story about the main character and his family. 

    The momentous moments seemed to just happen. And the movie was peppered with them; each more melodramatic than the previous.

    I was not that excited to watch this movie. But my roommate insisted. He then proceeded to invite a girl over unannounced and leave the movie and 45 minutes. The fact I still enjoyed the movie after those events I think is a testament to it’s quality.

    Creativity overload. 

    I held out on watching this for a while because I thought it just looked too weird. It was stellar. 

    Funny, touching, fun, exhilarating, deeper lessons. Phenomenal acting.
